Track History
In 1947 a little plot of the Ousterhouse
family farmland became known as Galesburg Speedway. The 2012 season
marks the 65th year of operation, and its believed to be the
longest continuous operating speedway in the state of
Michigan.
The Beebe Family built the speedway in 1947, as a dirt track. It remained a dirt track until it was paved in 1951. The track changed hands several times thru out its history, until 2011 when the long time racer Tom McGhee took over ownership.
Galesburg Speedway has its sights set on the future. Better safety, promoting good will in the racing community and the surrounding area. Galesburg Speedway has been offering Southwest Michigan Fans some of the most exciting side by side racing for generations.
